I believe that women should be able to make their hands absolutely beautiful at a reasonable price, without sacrificing quality, sanitation, or their health. I have become absolutely sickened at the number of "nail salons" out there these days offering nails at cut-rate prices, while using inferior and dangerous products and endangering their clients with little to no sanitation procedures. It is my promise to you that I will strive to continue my education in the nail industry in order to offer the best service available!

Education and Experience |
I was educated in the basics of the nail industry in 1990 in South Florida, and began working shortly after testing for, and receiving, my license. While still living in Florida, I was able to attend a few trade shows to view many demos and gain some knowledge from the manufacturers of the nail products I was using. After moving to Colorado in 1995, I had to take Colorado's State Board Examination -- both the practical and written examinations -- in order to be licensed in the state of Colorado. I passed with flying colors, and while I didn't work in a salon at that point, I still kept educating myself on the latest trends by joining an online community of nail technicians all over the globe. I started working in a salon in Aurora in 1997, and have since taken many classes to keep my skills honed. I have been a judge in online nail competitions, and have been quoted in industry magazines several times.
In 2000, I decided to try my hand at competing in the nail industry. I only competed for one year since the stress was too much for me, and the fact that only one competition happens here in Colorado made it very cost-prohibitive. I only competed with acrylic nails, not nail art or other types of nails. I did very well during my short stint in the competition arena, even making it to Nails Magazine's Top 25. Some of the awards I received during my brief competition stint:
1999 - Spring Nail Art Contest (Online) - Honorable Mention
1999 - Great American Nail Show - 2nd Place Sculptured Nails
2000 - Peels Spring Show - 1st Place Sculptured Nails
2000 - Best in the West Nail Show - 1st Place Salon Success Nails
2000 - Best in the West Nail Show - 1st Place Give Yourself a Hand
2000 - Best in the West Nail Show - Best in Show
2001 - Strut Your Stuff 2001 (Online) - 1st Place Enhancements

On Halloween 2002, I gave birth to my son, Dylan. I took a hiatus from the salon a bit before he was born, and have had my hands full since he was born! I started working from home for a while, and got to see all the milestones that some working parents miss in the first year. In July of 2005, I married Dylan's daddy, and my name changed. Many of my clients knew me for years as Amy Anzlovar, then Amy Lunde, and now I am Amy Lunde-Provines (the addition of Provines is a whole other story!) Because I homeschool my son, and my family is extremely important to me, I currently only work in a salon part time -- every other week on Monday, Wednesday, and Friday (since most nail services happen every other week anyway, it is a great schedule!)
