Contrary to how many people treat them, nails are not tools, and should not be used as such. This is probably the most important thing to remember, whether you have natural nails or enhancements. Use the proper tool for what you need to do - a screwdriver, staple remover, etc. Wear gloves when in excessive amounts of water (handwashing dishes, for example) or gardening.
Oil is liquid gold for your nails. If you use a good quality oil every day, even multiple times a day if you can remember, your nails should remain hydrated and healthy. A blend of natural oils (for example apricot kernel, grapeseed, vitamin E, almond, and jojoba) is the best for your nails. Please do not use synthetic oils such as mineral oil on your nails. Natural oils are so much better for your skin and nails. If you run out of your oil before you are able to get a new bottle, you may even use olive oil as a substitute. I suggest you rub it into the cuticle, on top of the enhancement (or your natural nails), and underneath the nail.
